Blog Challenge Day 13-Goals....Sorry I'm so far behind!

It's going to take me WAY more than 30 days to finish this. It's half laziness and the other half I just forget! Sorry

Here are a few goals I would like to achieve (in no particular order):
1. I want to have a stable job
2. I want to be a mother
3. I want to be a super awesome wife

I'm sure if I sat here and thought really hard I could come up with some other goals, but going back to the lazy thing :)

Blog Challenge Day 12-What you believe

I believe that Jesus was sent to live and die for me and my sins. I believe that family is the second most important thing in life. And without friends this world would be a sad and lonely world.

Blog Challenge Day 11-Favorite tv shows

So I have discovered when you get married your week nights revolve around TV shows. And now with the invention of DVR I can still watch all my "bad for me shows!"

How I Met Your Mother. This show is great I love Neil Patrick Harris as Barney. Although I do get frustrated at times because I am ready to find out who their mother is!!!

Glee. I have just recently started watching this show, but I am obsessed. I have to admit, I've even downloaded some of the songs onto my ipod :)

Raising Hope. This comes on after Glee and it's soo funny! The dad makes the show!

The Middle, Modern Family, and Cougar Town. Wednesday night is my favorite TV night. These 3 shows are hilarious. If you haven't seen these 3 shows you're missing out on a lot of laughs!!

Grey's Anatomy. Isn't this just about everyone's favorite TV show!?!?

Blog Challenge Day 10-Something you're afraid of

I know, I know it's taking me awhile to complete this 30 day challenge thing, but it will get done!

Here's a list of some things I am afraid of:

roaches

being broke

being stranded somewhere alone

Haunted Houses/Hayrides (I don't like for people to come up behind me and scare me!)

If I think of more I will get back to ya!

Blog Challence Day 9: A picture of your friends

These are the most important girls in my life!!

This is my sister and like I've mentioned in an earlier post: I'm like her 2nd mom, but we love each other! :)

This is my oldest (and dearest) friend Katie! Our moms were best friends in high school and our dad's were also best friends in high school. I think that my mom met my dad at Katie's parents wedding. I have so many childhood memories with Katie in them! I remember one summer we went to the beach together and Katie got 2nd degree burns from the sun! Oh Katie I love you! Katie is expecting and I can't wait to meet my little nephew Remi :) I hope our kids grow up to be best friends too!!

These 2 girls are my, as you say in high school, BFFs. We were roommates at Troy and had some great memories (Reba, Valentine's Day 2007, calling each other on our phones when were just down the hall, etc.). They are like my sisters: we fight like sisters, we care about each other like sisters, we laugh like sisters. You get the picture! Without these 2 my life would be quiet dull!

Oh Meggie T. how I love you! Megan and I met at Troy. I remember the day we met at the KD house and after hanging out one day I knew I had found my "college, lifetime friend!" Megan has her little quirks, but I love her for them! Not only do I love her, but Josh loves her too! She's such a sweetheart and I know one day she will find a man who is as sweet as she is!

This is my guardian angel, Whitney. I could always count on a good time when I was with Whit! She had an infectious laugh and we could have fun anywhere and we usually always did. I remember Bonnaroo and having the time of our lives there. We felt like we belonged in the "hippie world!" There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of her and some crazy memory we shared.

These ladies have a special place in my heart. I know that I don't get to see them as often as I would like, but I hope they all know that I am here for them no matter what time of day....any place, any time :) Love you girlie!

Day 8 of Blog Challenge: A Place You've Traveled To

Well I can't say I have been to too many places, but one place I've been to that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE was Antigua. Josh and I went there for our honeymoon and it was AMAZING! We stayed at the Sandals resort down there; all the food, drinks, and sun you can handle! Josh and I had a fabulous time there just lounging around enjoying each other's company. Here are some pictures from our trip:

Sunsets are beautiful here!

The water there is crystal clear! So Pretty

We went zip lining while we were there....SO MUCH FUN!!

But BEWARE of the big lizards that roam around....EEKK!!

Blog Challenge Day 7: Favorite Movies

There are only a few movies I will watch over and over again. Here are a few of them:

Every time this movie comes on I HAVE TO WATCH it! I love the music and the one liners! It makes you laugh, cry, warm and fuzzy inside...it's just a great movie!!

This has been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl. I remember I used to plan my day around this movie if I knew it was coming on! I remember one day Josh and I were in Target and found the DVD and I was soo pumped! I couldn't wait to get home and watch it!

Most people don't know this movie, but it is HILARIOUS!! This was another one I loved to watch with my dad when I was a little girl. The raccoons in the movie are soo funny... I strongly suggest you see this movie!

And of course these 2 movies are "oldies but goodies!!"

Blog Challence Day 6: A Picture of Something That Makes Me Happy

I took this picture on a Saturday afternoon. I love this picture because it shows the 3 most important men in my life. I know 2 of them are in Auburn gear, but I still love them!

Blog Challenge: Day 5 My Siblings

This is my sister Morgan! We are 3 years apart and totally different! As you can see Morgan has curly blonde hair and me, well straight brown hair. People who don't know us wouldn't know we were sisters. Morgan looks like my mom did when she was young, and I look like my dad. Mom claimed I was the "wild" one growing up and Morgan was the "sweet little innocent" one. We don't always see eye to eye on things, but we're sisters. She likes to say I am her "second mom." I do try to look out for her, but that's my job. I am so glad growing up I had her by my side; I didn't have to go through stuff alone! I'm not saying I had a tragic childhood, but we had each other when our parents divorced, when our dad passed away, and on the day of each other's weddings. She is 21 and got married in September 2009. She loves the Lord and I look up to her in that aspect. We may not always get along, but I love her :)

Blog Challenge Day 4: My Parents

I know I am a couple of days off, but I was kinda busy! :)

This is my mom, Meredith! This picture was taken on my Bachelorette trip, and yes my mom did come on the trip with us! My mom and I are super close. We talk at least once (sometimes more) a day. I can talk to her about just about anything. She is so supportive of anything I do, and yet she will tell me when something not a good idea. Without her I would be lost! I call her about the silliest things. Like how long do you bake a potato, or what do I need to take for a snotty nose. Josh and my step-dad, Scott, like to make jokes about how close my mom and me are, but it's ok I love my mom and I am ok with that! :)

This is my dad, Mike. This picture was taken when I was about 4 or 5 on a family beach trip. I was a total Daddy's girl! He worked hard to provide for my sister and I and never let us do without. He had a kind heart and would lend a hand anyway he could. He was a HUGE Alabama fan and we went to many games together. He could always make me laugh and we had some great times together. I know what you are thinking, "Why are you speaking in past tense?" Sadly, my dad passed away 5 years ago from cancer. It was quiet hard to not have my dad there the day I graduated from college or the day I got married. However, I know that he is always by my side and I take comfort knowing that he is in heaven.
I can say that I was truly blessed with awesome parents. I know many who didn't have the relationship like I did/do with my parents. My parents were very understanding and would not be quick to judge. Because of that I was honest with them most of the time :) I just hope that I will be a great parent one day like mine were!

Blog Challenge Day 3: My First Love

Of course growing up you have those boyfriends that you think you're "in love" with, but it's not really love. So my first love was of course my husband Josh! Josh and I had mutual friends and were from the same town, but didn't know each other. Picture this: Halloween night, college party and I walk in to see a guy dressed in a child's Sponge Bob Square pants costume. Something a guy has to have is a sense of humor, and come on if he's wearing that outfit in publix he HAS to have a sense of humor! So I was smitten! From that night on we "like peas and carrots!" Ha My mom likes to tell this story about Josh and I. As many of you know my dad passed away in 2005; well Josh had not met my family yet. So the first time Josh met my entire family was the day of my dad's funeral. My mom says that she knew from that day forward that he was the man for me, because not many guys would feel comfortable in that situation. He was there for me when I needed him, but at the same time gave me my distance when I needed it. I am very lucky to have such a wonderful man in my life. I am truly blessed!

Summer Coming To An End

Hello Everyone! I wish I could come up with clever titles for my blog posts, but I never can! Humph! Anyway, moving on...

We had a weekend filled with family time! My sister and brother-in-law came into town Friday night and we had a good old fashioned "game night!" Sadly Morgan and I weren't the best of teammates, we had our "blonde" moments. However my sister did beat us all in Phase 10, which by the way Josh HATES to lose! So he was not happy by the end of the night! It caused lots of laughs!

Saturday my Nana and Pap Paw (my Dad's parents), my Aunts, Uncles, and cousin came to visit us and see our new house. We had lunch which I cooked some(yes I cooked!) and we had a great time catching up. There's always lots of laughs when that side of the family gets together. We all tend to get a little loud. Me loud? Never! Ha! After lunch we went down to the stadium. My grandparents haven't seen the stadium in a long time. They were able to see the statues and the new section that was just built. I think they really enjoyed it and I'm sure my dad was on their minds. He loved coming to the games as much as they did!

After the family left we went bowling with Morgan and Jason. I'm not a good bowler, but it was still fun and we had a great time!

Well we all know what happens this weekend!!!!! JOSH'S BIRTHDAY!! Oh and College Football starts! I think Josh is more excited about football starting than his birthday! Hope everyone has a great week and ROLL TIDE ROLL!! :)

You don't know how hard it is to take a picture with these 2!!

*Breaking News*

So it's been awhile since I've blogged (I've got to get better at this), so I figured you all needed a little update with what's going on in the life of the Fryers! Well first and most importantly....I GOT A JOB!! YAYAYAYA! Praise the Lord! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, I have great friends and an AWESOME family! OK, back to the job...It's not a teaching job per-se, but it's a teaching assistant at one of the private schools here in Tuscaloosa. Basically I help the two 2nd grade teachers with anything they need, for instance help a struggling student, plan field trips and grade events, etc. I also get to have my own small group for Reading and Math, so I still get to come up with my own plans and activities just to a smaller group. Private is so much different from public school. So I am having to get accustomed to the difference. I am really excited about what this school year has in store for me!

Summer is coming to an end and although I won't miss the HOT, HUMID weather, I will miss the freedom summer brings. I have enjoyed a couple vacations this summer and also some quick trips with great friends.

Josh and I at the Braves/Dodgers game...they lost :(

However with summer ending that means Fall is just around the corner and you know what that means?!?!? FOOTBALL SEASON!! I soo look forward to tailgating with friends and enjoying some great college football game!!

I leave you now with some pictures from the Culligan wedding :)

My Husband...He's Kind Of A Big Deal :)

As most of you know my husband works for a Mechanical Construction Company (there's a more formal name her could give but you get what I'm saying). He is the Human Resource Manager for the company. Well after working there for a year he is finally "a big man on campus." That's because he got a parking spot with his name on it!! I think I was more excited than he was, hence the photos below :) I am so blessed to have an AMAZING, hard working, husband! SO I thought I would brag a little bit about him :) Love you Russell!

Wedding Season

One thing I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE about summer is weddings!! I love to see two people who are madly in love get married! A few weekends ago Josh and I made a trip to Huntsville to see our friend, Stuart and Sara get married. Stuart and Joah went to high school together, and "Stu-baby" and I became friends through mutual friends. The wedding was beautiful. The couple got married in a beuatiful Baptist church with an amazing stain glass window scene. AMAZING! Then their reception was at the NASA space center. We were smack-dab-in-the-middle of space history. It was fun to walk around and look at all the artifacts while snacking on wedding cake :)And I love me some wedding cake!! Josh and I had a great time dancing the night away with hometown friends. Here are a few pictures from the night:

Good Time With Great Friends!

Also, please continue to pray for me in the job department. I had an interview last week and did not get the job. :( I now have to look at other options. I know that this is all part of the Lord's plan, but the "worldly" part of me is getting stressed out about the whole thing. Thank you to all my family and friends who have prayed for me, I love you all so very much.

Luke 12:31 "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need."

Summer Fun!

This past weekend Josh and I went home to visit with family and friends for the 4th. It was nice to have a couple of days just to hang out with our family and not feel rushed to see everyone. Here are some pictures from the weekend!

The super yummy cake we made!

God is so Good! Look at this sunset!

I hope everyone had an awesome 4th of July. If you have room on your prayer request list, please add me to it. I'm having some trouble finding a job. I trust the Lord will provide, but sometimes my anxiety gets the best of me! I will keep everyone updated!

The Madness that is Twilight

So unless you live under a rock, Twilight Saga: Eclipse came out last night at midnight and I (along with my BFF Amanda Norris) was one of the crazy people who went to the premiere. The movie was of course awesome and I will probably see it again before it leaves the theater. However the action happened before the movie even began!!

We arrive at the movie theater at 10:15 thinking that was plenty of time, Oh No! Here is the line to get into the movie:

It wrapped around the entire place! Needless to say we were not early enough, but there were plenty of people in line behind us. The wait to get into the movie was very entertaining. People go all out for these things! I mean I loved the books and the movies, but 1: I'm not getting dressed up as one of the characters 2: I'm not going to get unto a argument about who's team I'm on, "Team Edward" or "Team Jacob," and 3: I'm not planning my wedding to fall on the same day as Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. Yes you heard me there was a couple in line with us who will be getting married on August 13th, the same day that Bella and Edward did. CRAZY!! Amanda and I had QUITE a few laughs as we stood in line.

So when we finally get inside the movie theater you would have thought Kristen Stewart and Robert Patinison were there. People were running around like maniacs! When the lady tore our tickets this is what we were told, "Just run to a theater until you find a seat." "Excuse me, What?" So here Norris and I go running through the place like 2 girls chasing Justin Bieber down! Guess where we find a seat? IN THE VERY FRONT ROW! I mean I could see boogers in the people's noses we were so close! Oh another funny tale of the night, I was getting popcorn and my souvenir Eclipse cup a woman in line beside me had red eyeballs!!! She had red contacts in to make it look like she was a vampire! I'm telling you crazy! All this has happened before the 12:00 premiere. I must say this will be an event I will laugh about often.

P.S. Thank you Amanda Norris for driving the Tuscaloosa to see the movie and being my partner in all the madness!!

Summer Vaca!

Last week Josh and I went to Hilton Head, SC for the week. Josh had a week long conference he attended while I enjoyed the sites and shops :) of Hilton Head. The weather was EXTREMELY hot; if you weren't in the water you were miserable! Every morning as I dropped Josh off at his conference I went on a little walk. HH is the best place for a walker, they have tons of paths for people to walk and ride their bikes. Of course I had to walk very early so I wouldn't die of a heat stroke. Once Josh was finished for the day we would go to the beach and take in the Atlantic Ocean. I must say the Gulf is sooo much better then the Atlantic! The water is dark and warm, nothing like the Gulf. We did see our fair share of dolphins who would swim rather close to us, it was amazing. We ate some great food; us Fryers we love to eat and we did plenty of it while we were there.
Salty Dog was one of our favorites!

While I was there I had the chance to read a very awesome, powerful book called "90 Minutes In Heaven." Having lost my father to cancer 5 years ago and just recently losing my best friend this book really opened my eyes about dying and heaven. I don't want to give the book away but this man was in a car accident, died and went to heaven for 90 minutes. The way he described heaven was so beautiful and that he wanted to stay there, not to come back to Earth. By the end of reading this book I knew that my Dad was in this beautiful place where he would never want to leave. A place where he didn't hurt and he was with all the people that had went to heaven before him. And the same goes for Whitney. I know when it's my turn to go to heaven that my dad, Whitney, and many others will be waiting for me at those gates with open arms. Yes death is sad and hard to get over, but by reading this I know that if they had a choice they would want to stay in heaven and not come back to this crazy world. I hope I don't offend anyone by making this statement, it's just how I truly feel. I challenge you to read this book and not agree with what I said.

I don't want to end on a sad not so here are some pictures from our trip to Hilton Head.

It's Past Midnight...

Yes it is past midnight and I am still awake. If this was a school night I would have been asleep for over 3 hours already. I know all you teachers out there are going to kill me, but I AM SO BORED! Of course while school was in all I could think about was summer break and sleeping in, but there are some cons to summer break:

1- I am all alone! I don't have children to entertain me and my two little, sweet, wonderful pups have been gone from us for going on 5 weeks! Yes 5 weeks! If you know Josh and I you know that we love and treat Shadow and Bouncer like they were people. Because we live so far away from out families and I don't like to board them Josh's mom keeps them for us. It's a 3 hour drive from Phenix City so when she keeps them, she KEEPS them! We went to the beach Memorial Day weekend so Jack-A got them before we left, well Sunday we leave for Hilton Head for a week so there was no way we could get them keep them for a week and a half and turn around and get them to Phenix City. To many miles. I miss them sooo much I have no one to talk to during the day (yes I talk to my dogs, like I said we treat them like people), Josh is at work and Turtle hates me so he won't even look at me. I can't wait to get them back on the 21st.

SOO I totally went off the subject, back to what I was talking about...oh yeah the cons of Summer break!

2-I spend money! Because I am alone and bored I go shopping (bad idea)! It's terrible I have the quit I MUST QUIT!! ahhhh and lastly...

3- I eat! Again I am bored, so what do I do? I go looking around the kitchen for a "Snack." Bad idea!

I am sure when Josh and I have kids my days will be filled with entertaining out sweet, lovely children. But until then I need a hobby, any suggestions??

All this talk about summer break I failed to mention I lost my job at the end of the school year.
:( Bummer I know! Right now I am in that place where I know the Lord will put me where I need to be, but not knowing what my future holds career wise is breaking my spirits! I love what I do, I enjoy going to school and teaching kids and I want to do this until I am an old lady. However it's hard to get a job where no one knows you and is not sure if they want to take a gamble on you. I feel like I would be a great asset to any school, I just have to keep the faith.

Josh is doing so well in his career. I am so proud of him and all his hard work. Some days I can tell it is tough of him, but nothing that a kiss and a home cooked meal can't fix. I am so happy that I choose him to be my husband, he's truly the best!

Oh P.S. I found out today Bouncer has heart worms :( However the vet says that he's pretty sure he caught it in time so Bounce should be fine. He has to spend the night though so I am sad about that.

Ok enough rant and raving for one night. Josh and I have an exciting week ahead. Tomorrow night we are going to Birmingham to see Zac Brown Band and then Sunday we leave for Hilton Head, SC for a week (business trip for Josh, fun week for me). Yay!

It's So Hard To Say Goodbye!

As many of you know last Sunday (May 23rd) my best friend Whitney died in a car accident. That day will be cemented in my mind for the rest of my life. When i first received the phone call about the accident I did not want to believe it. Mainly because I had talked to Whitney not 2 hours before. She had went on a date with this guy and she was so nervous the night before, but that morning she let me know that the date went "Wonderfully" and that she would call me as soon as she got back to the Delta to tell me all about it. I was frantic to find out the truth; I didn't want to believe the "he said, she said." I wanted to hear it from her family. Finally after an hour or so I got a hold of her brother and that was when my heart shattered into a million little pieces. Not Whitney, not the girl who loved life so much that it was written all over her face. Not my best friend, the one who no matter if we hadn't talked in weeks could pick right back up where we left off. Not my best friend who I shared so many silly, fun, eventful memories with. Now I lost my dad almost 5 years ago to cancer and yes that was hard, but I knew my dad was in pain and letting him go meant not having him suffer and knowing that he had a brand new body in heaven. However, to lose someone so young, so unexpected was soo much to bear. There is not a day that doesn't go by that I don't and will not think of her. I can only imagine what her family must feel, because I feel like a piece of my heart is missing.

The only comforting part of this is knowing that Whitney is in heaven. I can just see her now loudly laughing and looking down on us. Whitney is not in the ground she is in all of our hearts. As hard as it is to know I will not see her again in her earthly body, I know I will see her again in heaven and we can pick up right where we left off! :)
