Ready, Set, FETCH!

Josh and I are "dog sitting" for a friend of ours' chocolate lab, Jackson. He's a little sad that his Dad left hime so we thought a nice game of Fetch would make him feel better! Well Bounce wanted to play the game too. Here are some pictures from this afternoon.

Bounce taking the ball from Jackson, and Jackson letting him!

And they're off!!

Shadow just watched. He's not into breaking a sweat.

Sippin and Strokin

This past weekend Josh & I went and visited Josh's brother and his wife. We always have a fabulous time in Birmingham and this time was no different. We decided to try out this whole Sips & Strokes thing everyone has been raving about. Of course Josh was a little hesitant because it is kind of a "girl thing," but with the brother by his side he trucked on.

Josh of course bragged about how great his was going to look, but once we got started his attitude changed quickly....

(Josh before he got frustrated)

They do a REALLY, I mean REALLY good job helping you outline your picture. It may look a little creepy to begin with (see below)

(Yikes! They are SUPPOSED to look like wine bottles)

However, as you continue to add different colors it all comes together beautifully.

(Halfway there.....it's looking better.)

Here's the finished products:

(This one is Josh's...his actually turned out great,
even after he said he was quitting 5 times :o)

Mine. Not bad for a first timer.

Let's Play Catch Up...AGAIN

Ok so I am going to try REAL hard to keep this thing up to date...

Well over Thanksgiving break we moved into "our first home!"

It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, home that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!! Our new home is located in Northport, which is located right outside of Tuscaloosa (it's kind of like how close Phenix City and Columbus are to one another). My WONDERFUL mom and mom-in-law came and helped us move. Without those 2 I think we would still be painting and unpacking. Josh made the comment that fireplaces are the greatest thing ever invented!! He really likes our fireplace. The house was practiaclly "move in ready," all we had to do was paint some of the rooms. Oh and fix the mailbox:

Job update: My time in 4th grade has came to an end :( But I was offered to take a 2nd grade job at the same school!! 4th grade and 2nd grade are totally different. I enjoyed 4th grade, but I think that I am really going to enjoy 2nd. So continue to pray for me that I will keep this job for next year too.

Josh got a promotion at McAbee. He is now the Human Resource Manager! I am so proud of my hubby; he is such a hard worker! It's hard work but I think he really enjoys it. However when Josh and I come home in the afternoons we are so tired. Who knew that being a grown up would be so hard :)

Sadly football season is over. I thoroughly enjoyed living in Tuscaloosa during this time!! It was soo exciting, especially since they just won a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!! Yes the trophy was displayed at the local Wal-Mart, but I am POSITIVE that every college team has their own "redneck fans." I look forward to many more football seasons in what we call "God's Country!"

Christmas at the Fryer's was a great one too!! This is the first Christmas that we didn"t have to drive somewhere to be with family...they came to us!! My mom, Scott, Morgan and Jason came to spend a few days with us for Christmas. I also made Christmas dinner. Here is a picture of my first turkey:

I really enjoyed having house guests and being a hostess.
Like I said before I am going to try really hard to keep this up to date...

Let's Play Catch Up Part 2

In case you live under a rock during football season this weekend was the Alabama vs. Arkansas game. Josh's bother and wife came to stay and go the game with us. Of course the minute we get out and about the bottom falls out and we get a little wet. So week 2 of getting wet at a football game! Thankfully, Josh's company owns a box at the stadium and we were able to sit up there and stay dry during the game. Alabama won, Troy won, and Auburn won so we were very pleased with the weekend. Have I said before how much I love football season?!?! I just love Game Day, the atmosphere and everything about it!! Here are some pictures for the weekend!!

Also I have been offered a mini position at the elementary school I have been subbing at. The principal asked me if I would be interested in being kind of like a teacher's aide. I would go to different grade levels and help strugglers with different subjects. I would start as soon as my long-term job is done and it would be everyday, all day! It's not a contract, benefits job, but keep praying that it will turn into something more!!

Let's Play Catch Up!

I haven't wrote anything in awhile so I thought I would catch everyone up with what is going on with us. Two weekends ago my sister got married. Needless to say I cried just about the whole ceremony! I guess the thought of my 20 year old, little sister getting married and the fact that my dad wasn't there just took over me and I boo hood. My Pap Paw walked her down the aisle wearing a tux for the first time maybe ever! He looked so proud to be apart of Morgan's special day and I know that he was. I'm sure my dad was looking down from heaven with a big smile on his face! Knowing that his 2 girls married great men and that Mom will be getting a raise! Morgan has a lot to learn about being a wife; I still have a lot to learn. They love each other very much and it will be tough at times, but they'll get through it. I foresee a lot of meals at Gran and Daddy Gene's in their future. Here are some pictures from the wedding below.

After Morgan's wedding we went to the Auburn vs. West Virgina game. We enjoyed seeing some people from Phenix City and catching up with them. However when it came game time I was not a happy camper. First of all I am a BAMA fan and the only reason I agreed to go to the game was because Josh suffered through the Alabama game last weekend. Anyway the minute we got to the stadium the bottom fell out!! I'm not talking just a little sprinkle I mean "Cow peeing on a flat rock" rain!! So here we are with 90,000 other people smushed so close you could barely breathe!! All along I was thinking, "I'm not even a Auburn fan and I'm sitting through this!!" Finally they let us go to the stands and game started. Below are two pictures of how the stadium looked. If you were there then you know this is no exaggeration!!

Football Season!

Friday was Josh's 25th birthday. We celebrated by going to Kobe the Japanese restaurant and then going to Home Depot afterwards. Exciting I know. Tuscaloosa was kind of dead because of the game being in Atlanta. However we enjoyed each other's company!

We're soo excited that Football Season has started! Sadly, Troy lost Thursday night so that kind of put a damper on the football season spirit. However, Josh and I both cheered up when our "other" teams won! I always look forward to this time of year! There's always a game to watch and a team to pull for. This weekend is Bama's first home game against Fla. Intl. (i think). I will be making the trip to good ole' Phenix City for my sister's bridesmaids luncheon. But I will be coming back to T-town hopefully just in time for kick-off! Below are some pictures of the dogs in their new Bama/ Auburn gear. Can you say "House Divided?" We Can!

I survived!

I survived my first day at the elementary school! I am very overwhelmed at the moment!! Teachers have all summer to plan for the school year and I'm having to do it as I go! I just hope that when the teacher does come back I haven't totally ruined the way she does things, because I have no basis to go by! Today I had the former sub in there with me kind of showing me the ropes, but tomorrow I am all alone. So please pray for me!

My mom informed me that I had quiet a few grammatical errors in my last blog, so I apologize for that. I type so fast that I don't pay attention to what I'm saying. So forgive me I will try my best to speak correctly.

As we speak my sweet husband is downstairs helping me get organized! He's such a doll! Until next time "God is Love Rev. Run :)"
