Sping is in the air!

Yes it's that wonderful time of year again...Spring!! I love the warm weather and all the flowers blooming! This weekend Josh's parents came and brought us some patio furniture! Yay! The patio is almost complete! All we need it some tiki lights and a TV hanging in the corner and we will be set! Josh and I have enjoyed sitting out on our patio, playing with dogs, and enjoying the sun on our faces!! :) I look forward to many more wonderful, Spring moments!

Home Improvements

This weekend my grandparents and parents came to visit Josh and me. This was the first time my Daddy Gene & Gran have seen our new home. They didn't come empty handed either. My Daddy Gene built a mantel for our fireplace! He did an AWESOME job!

Another "Home Improvement" we had planned was to extend the patio out more in our backyard. So Josh & my step dad got up early Saturday morning and started pouring concrete in the wind and rain. Here's a few pictures I took throughout the process.

Josh worked so hard & he is very proud of the work he & Scott did! I helped too! Well I did what I could (which means I didn't do a lot) However it's the thought that counts!

Here's the finished product! We are soo excited about this!!! Bring on the warm weather!

Here's the family signature! The pups even put their paws in the concrete to make it official :)
We would LOVE visitors this Spring and Summer to test out our new patio!

Snow Day!

So this time yesterday when I was told school would be cancelled I was a little upset. One because last time we had a "snow day" it didn't snow and we had to make up that day. Two it was Valentine's Day in my class and I was excited to have my little children trade "Valentimes" (Junie B. Jones reference). SO this morning when I woke up and saw that there was no snow I was totally disappointed. However, a couple of hours later it started to snow!! yay! Even better, Josh got to enjoy the day with me! We went to lunch and when we got back they told everyone at his office to go home! Yay! Bouncer and Shadow were a little hesitant at first, but Bounce had no problem running around once he got his horse coat on (it's a coat from left over material they use to make horse blankets). Shadow wasn't digging it. He watched from the comfort of shelter. He made it out in the snow long enough to take one picture. We totally enjoyed spending the day together having fun and acting like little kids! So here are a couple of pictures from our first "Snow Day" as a married couple and our new home.

Ready, Set, FETCH!

Josh and I are "dog sitting" for a friend of ours' chocolate lab, Jackson. He's a little sad that his Dad left hime so we thought a nice game of Fetch would make him feel better! Well Bounce wanted to play the game too. Here are some pictures from this afternoon.

Bounce taking the ball from Jackson, and Jackson letting him!

And they're off!!

Josh talking to Jackson & Bouncer

Shadow just watched. He's not into breaking a sweat.

Sippin and Strokin

This past weekend Josh & I went and visited Josh's brother and his wife. We always have a fabulous time in Birmingham and this time was no different. We decided to try out this whole Sips & Strokes thing everyone has been raving about. Of course Josh was a little hesitant because it is kind of a "girl thing," but with the brother by his side he trucked on.

Josh of course bragged about how great his was going to look, but once we got started his attitude changed quickly....

(Josh before he got frustrated)

They do a REALLY, I mean REALLY good job helping you outline your picture. It may look a little creepy to begin with (see below)

(Yikes! They are SUPPOSED to look like wine bottles)

However, as you continue to add different colors it all comes together beautifully.

(Halfway there.....it's looking better.)

Here's the finished products:

(This one is Josh's...his actually turned out great,
even after he said he was quitting 5 times :o)

Mine. Not bad for a first timer.

Let's Play Catch Up...AGAIN

Ok so I am going to try REAL hard to keep this thing up to date...

Well over Thanksgiving break we moved into "our first home!"

It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, home that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!! Our new home is located in Northport, which is located right outside of Tuscaloosa (it's kind of like how close Phenix City and Columbus are to one another). My WONDERFUL mom and mom-in-law came and helped us move. Without those 2 I think we would still be painting and unpacking. Josh made the comment that fireplaces are the greatest thing ever invented!! He really likes our fireplace. The house was practiaclly "move in ready," all we had to do was paint some of the rooms. Oh and fix the mailbox:

Job update: My time in 4th grade has came to an end :( But I was offered to take a 2nd grade job at the same school!! 4th grade and 2nd grade are totally different. I enjoyed 4th grade, but I think that I am really going to enjoy 2nd. So continue to pray for me that I will keep this job for next year too.

Josh got a promotion at McAbee. He is now the Human Resource Manager! I am so proud of my hubby; he is such a hard worker! It's hard work but I think he really enjoys it. However when Josh and I come home in the afternoons we are so tired. Who knew that being a grown up would be so hard :)

Sadly football season is over. I thoroughly enjoyed living in Tuscaloosa during this time!! It was soo exciting, especially since they just won a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!! Yes the trophy was displayed at the local Wal-Mart, but I am POSITIVE that every college team has their own "redneck fans." I look forward to many more football seasons in what we call "God's Country!"

Christmas at the Fryer's was a great one too!! This is the first Christmas that we didn"t have to drive somewhere to be with family...they came to us!! My mom, Scott, Morgan and Jason came to spend a few days with us for Christmas. I also made Christmas dinner. Here is a picture of my first turkey:

I really enjoyed having house guests and being a hostess.
Like I said before I am going to try really hard to keep this up to date...
